Looking at the suggestions re this thread, I have a couple of
observations.
Freedial refuses to install on my RiscPC with SA110. I don't know why
but it just does.
I currently use Slipdial which seems to do the job.
I do get errors, but I believe it lies in using Freenet v2 and
PPPdrivers, however, if I shut down after using the 'net' things
return to normal. I keep getting spurious 'abort on data transfers'
and similar.
I vote for Messenger - even better now, Newsbase works fine for me,
as does !POP, however, if things can be simplified, then so much the
better. Where does Newshound live, so I can give it a try?
Regards and thanks for bringing life back into the Acorn net world.
